Tina Shaw started working part-time for the NZSA as Programme Manager in 2006. She is the author of five novels for adults, including The Black Madonna, published by Penguin Books in 2005. Her other novels are Paradise, City of Reeds, Dreams of America and Birdie. Tina's short stories have been published in many anthologies, literary journals and magazines, and she was First Runner-Up in the 2003 Sunday Star-Times Short Story Competition. She has been a recipient of the Buddle Findlay Sargeson Fellowship, and has held the Creative New Zealand Berlin Writers' Residency. In 2005, she was Writer in Residence at the University of Waikato, and has since been writing junior and young adult fiction. Tina is a member of the NZ Association of Manuscript Assessors.
